This is for grandma SueBee

I have known this family forever. These two beautiful kiddies Mom used to tend me and I used to tend her two oldest girls. Their grandma called me for this photo shoot and I was very, VERY excited to work with older kids that would do as I say and smile when I said smile. It was such a good experience.
Just look how pretty this girl is...
She said to me that I wouldn't get any good ones of her...

I beg to differ!! She is BEAUTIFUL!!

And check out this boy...He told me he has a 6th grader chasing after him. Watch out, he is going to be a heartbreaker!

Thanks for calling me Grandma SueBee. I am super excited to finish the rest of these!

"I had the best day with you...today"

Yesterday was a bad day and Yesterday was a good day.

Yesterday I thought that I might be pregnant. I had been feeling tired, and sick, and I was 4 days late...

but I found out later that night, I am not pregnant. I am sad, but not surprised. Early this morning while I was working I heard this song. (shhhh...listen...can you hear it?)

It made me stop and think. Yesterday wasn't so bad, Yesterday was good.

Yesterday I took my girls to get thier hair cut. Aniston wanted a short hair cut "like Kit's" since Christmas.

Yesterday was the day that I watched her make the decision to cut it to her chin.

Yesterday was the day that I saw her beam from ear to ear when she looked in the mirror and felt her new short hair.

Yesterday was the day that She said to me "Mom I love it and I love you. Thank you for taking me."

Yesterday was the day that she was so excited to show her dad and when he said "it's so cute" and got a tear in his eye, she jumped up in his arms and hugged him so tight.

Yesterday was the day that the two of them didn't fight all day.

Yesterday was the day that my baby crawled in my lap and put her little hands on my cheek and pulled my ear next to her little mouth as she whispered "me uve you, mommy" for no reason.

Yesterday was the day that the girls and I met my mom in Gunnison to see the movie "Up".

Yesterday was the day that we shared popcorn and a 7-up while they both took a turn setting on my lap during the movie.

Yesterday was the day that they gave me a kiss good night and then requested a kiss from their dad too.

Yesterday

"I had the best day with you, today"...

Precious...

I got a call from an old Cheerleading friend from high school this last week. She asked me to photograph her 2 children. I was thrilled, to say the least.
I met up with her and her two adorable kids on Friday night. Little Miss "M" was so cute and didn't mind me following her around with my camera. Little brother was just darling. He smiled and grinned at me while laying on the grass for at least 10 minutes.

Thanks for calling me Nicole. I had such a good time.

Here is a little sneek peek.

I am in love with this one!

Capturing little sweet glances between two people is what photography is all about.

It's just so sweet...

Pretty Girl

This past week I had a horrible week. It just couldn't get over fast enough. It really was just one thing after another. I had sewing to do, I had photos to edit, I had 2 photo shoots scheduled, I had an extremely messy house, I lost my car keys, which ended up not being lost at all but safely tucked inside Ryans pants pocket while he was at Fishlake fishing for the whole day.
So, Yeah, that week is over and I am ready to start a new crazy week.
I did spend my anniversary with my family and fathers day with my family so the week didn't end too bad.
I did a photoshoot for my mother-in-law with all of the grandkids. It turned out to be quite the adventure.
7 kids=everyone being naughty except my darling little neice, Eladee. She was the cutest, happiest, the youngest, and most photogenic of the bunch.
I can't decide which is my favorite???

Sisters...

How come when you try to photograph your own children, it just doesn't work out like you picture it???
I spent a 4 day weekend with my sister. It was her birthday and I hadn't been down to see her new house yet. We had a good time, not because we did anything spectacular, but because we spent hours talking, crying, laughing, and eating chocolate cake. Having 5 kids between the 2 of us, makes shopping a nightmare!
Having someone that you can share everything with is a blessing of gigantic proportions. Having a sister is who is that person for you is like having an extension of yourself. I love my sister and I want her to know how much I adore and admire her. She is so strong and beautiful and amazing and is raising the 3 cutest little boys I know.
So Happy Birthday sis. I LOVE YOU!!
I have a million and one things going on right now. I have projects coming out the ying yang...I have a mess due to an ant infestation, and kids with stuffy noses and coughs. Life just gets crazier and crazier everyday, but thats part of the journey, right?? One day I know that I will be looking back and wishing that I had a crazy life again, so I am going to soak up the crazy and move ahead!!
We have some fun things planned for the up coming weeks. I love summer, I just don't love the cold summer that we seem to be having.

I am so Lucky...

I really, REALLY do feel so blessed.

I had the oppertunity to take some more family/baby pictures with the cutest little family.
Wow, is all that I have to say! I had such a great experience. These 3 little girls were adorable and full of smiles!

Can I just say that everyone should do something that they love doing. It is so rewarding and I just feel so lucky that people actually let me capture these precious little moments with their families.

Nielson's... 1st of all thank you for letting me take your pictures. I enjoyed every minute of it.

2nd of all...this is my favorite so far. I hope you like them!

I am mad!!

Being the mother of girls, I am scared to Death!!

Last week we were at the park for lunch and there was a young girl there. She may have been 14. She had bleached out blonde hair, the tightest tank top, and an Ipod tucked in the pocket of her very, VERY, short shorts. It started me thinking....
I am thinking that I am sending my girls to a convent, or I am going to home school them, or I am going to lock them up and throw away the key. SERIOUSLY!!
I started thinking back to when I was a girl. Who were the singers that we loved and wanted to be like??Remember Tiffany?

I loved her. And look at all the clothes that she is wearing. We all loved her and bought her records even though she was wearing clothes!

OH...MY...GOSH.... Britney has forgotten to get dressed today!!

Oh wait, no she always looks like she forgot her clothes.

Skirts just keep getting shorter and shorter and I DON'T like it!! When I was a high school cheerleader, I am 100% positive that our skirts were not as short as they are now. What is the world coming to??? I hate that all these young girls that breakout as stars, start out being nice. We think its fine. We let our girls watch their shows and buy their music and then they slowly start the transformation into sexy, naughty girls who are out to parties in their short skirts and by that time our kids are hooked!!

I don't want to teach my girls that they have to dress and behave this way just for people to notice them. I want them to be nice, respectable, moral, and well behaved girls who will turn into nice, respectable, moral, and well behaved women.

What is the secret? What to we have to do as mothers to overpower this media "sex sells" BS??

Sorry for the rant...I am just frustrated that this world is trying to make our little sweet girls grow up way too fast!

I wasn't going to blog, but I missed it and it is like my therapy! So I will be back. I have a lot of things on my mind!!

I survived the 1st

Day of SUMMER!!

Kids home, ALL DAY, fighting, giggling, running, wearing swimming suits, and being silly.

Am I going to survive the next 3 months?????

No, seriously, I am excited that school is over. I desperately needed a summer vacation. This last month has been non stop.

A whole 3 months of not having to be somewhere at a certain time. YEAH!!!!

So ALOT has gone one. Aniston had her last week as a 1st grader. She doesn't really look all that much different, but I can see a huge change in her.
(1st day of school)
She lost her 2 front teeth at Thanksgiving and then are just now coming in. She is more confident, she knows so many words, she reads everything in site, and she is a math whiz just like her dad.

I am so proud of her. During the 1st week of school, I noticed that she was having a hard time reading. I was upset, to say the least, I went in and talked with her teacher and she said that she noticed the same thing. Her teacher was fantastic. She said that she would test her again and then we could find her weaknesses and make a plan to work on it. I was thinking the worst, like dyslexia and blaming myself because I put her in Kindergarten early. Due to a late summer birthday, she could have waited one more year.

So we started working extra hard, everynight! We were reading together, doing sound exercises, and practicing phonics. Every parent teacher conference that we went to her teacher said she was just excelling. I could see such a difference. Her nose is constantly in a book now.

To make a long story short, there was an assembly for the kids during this last week. I had to be there for a PTO thing, because parents weren't invited to attend. She received a math award. They also give out a dedicated reader award to 5 students in each class and my beautiful Aniston was given one by her teacher.
I am SO proud!!
It was a great lesson to teach her that if you struggle at something, hard work and dedication will always pay off. I was so glad that I was there to see it. After all the complaining about PTO, this is one time that I was super happy to be on the committee.

On May 15th they had a little program for the 1st graders. It was so cute. They sang Disney songs.
I wanted to make the girls some little dresses that I had been thinking about for a while. They picked out their fabric. I thought that they were going to pick out different things, but they didn't. They wanted to be matching. (YEAH!! I love it)

(Emerson didn't think the program was that exciting)

We, as the PTO, had a carnival for the students on the last day of school. So last week, I spent most of my time planning, preparing, and cleaning-up a carnival. It was a lot of work, but the kids had a great time. My aweome mom came and took my girlies to the carnival, so that I could manage the food booth.

Last week was exhausting, so...

We spent the weekend relaxing. We didn't plan a project, we didn't clean or do laundry (which I am paying for now)

So in between this....

And during this...
We went FISHING!!
Wow, have I ever said that I love these little fishermen???

Well I do!!!
I have big plans for the summer. I think that I need to be a little un-plugged from the internet for the summer. I am not going to be updating this blog as often as I have been. We are going to swim, go to the summer reading program, go for walks, have picnics, and take a lot of pictures!!
This has got to be the longest post in my history. Sorry!!
I hope that everyone has a beautiful summer!!
