What I am doing today...

So I was blog surfing (that is what I am calling it, because stalking sound so naughty and weird) this morning and I then skipped back to mine and I noticed that I only write about the good things that happen day to day. And some days I am reaching for something exciting to blog about. So today I decided to show you what I am up to. I am really just a boring housewife, I do boring things everyday! Today I am doing dishes, trying to catch up the laundry, washing my van, and making my grocery list for the week. Not fun things at all.

Aniston did a beautiful job at her dance recital. She got to change her costumes 3 times and had 4 dances. It was so cute. I need to get some pictures on here, but daily chorse trump editing pictures.
My sis and I didn't get a thing accomplished that we wanted to this weekend. But we did get to spend time talking about all the things that we wanted to do.
One more thing. How do all of you who blog answer questions that people leave.
Do you post it in your comments where they left the question or do you go to their blog and then comment on their last post? Some one help me decide what to do!!

I have a Niece

I have a new niece. Ryans brother, Matthew and his wife Josey had their little baby girl yesterday. Her name is Graycee Jo. I can't wait to see her. New babies are such a sweet blessing.
Aniston has her dance recital tomorrow, so for the next two days we are all about the recital. We have practice today and dress rehersal tomorrow morning. She is so excited about it and I love to watch! (that is why you are hearing Hannah Montana, because the next two days are all about Aniston)
My sister is also on her way today. I can't wait. We have projects that we want to acomplish while she is here. We are going to try to make pajamas for the kids and we want to scrapbook a little, and I want to do a photoshoot of her and her kids together. I love it when she comes and we have big plans and I am positive that we won't get as much done as we would like.

One day you notice...

that your baby isn't a baby anymore. Yesterday I tried Emersons hair in little piggy tails and she looked so cute and so grown up. It seems like yesterday she was a newborn baby and I held her and loved her and she slept all day. And now she is a little girl trying to do everything that her big sister does. She is starting to say random words. I need to take her bottle away and I think she will be just fine, but I am not sure that I will. Not having a bottle just means that she is definately not a baby. It makes me so sad. I have loved being home with her. I feel like I haven't missed a thing and I am so grateful to be able to spend every day with her.
I worked everyday when Aniston was Emersons age and I know now that there were little things that I missed. But life is funny and things work out the way that they are suppose to. We didn't have Emerson for 4 years after, so there was 4 years that it was just the 3 of us. I am so lucky to have been able to have that time with Aniston and now I am getting to spend time with Emerson, just her and I. They are both such sweet and sassy girls. They look a lot alike, yet are so different. It is so sad that one day you wake up and notice that they aren't little anymore.

The park, snickers, and stuff

Last Friday, after checking my blog, I saw that an old friend had left me a comment. So I called her and we talked and It was really great to talk to her. I now, am officially in love with this blogging thing. I have been albe to get in touch with old friends and I love it!!

I decided to take the kids to the park because the weather was decent. Last fall when we went to the park, Emerson loved the swings. So I put her in the swings and she cried in her I am scared to death sounding cry. So then we tried the slide, she did the same thing. She just wanted to sit at the bottom and try to climb up the slide herself. She is a very funny and very independent child. Aniston has finally mastered the monkey bars, which she was very proud of.

We are tending my moms dog, Snickers. The girls love her to pieces, but I am not sure that she loves them that much. They love to kiss her(or have her lick their face). It grosses their dad out. Emerson kept laying under the kitchen table with snickers and everytime I tried to get a picture they would run away. So I caught a few of them kissing each other. Emerson is all puckered up in her picture. She would kiss that dog all day, but if you ask her for a kiss she covers her mouth and will not give them up. Silly girl.

Time for a reality check

A girl that I used to work with has just found out that her son has an incurable disease. I have been sitting on this for a week, trying to decide if it was something that I should write about. I just can't stop thinking about it. My mom and I were talking about it and I said that I don't know what I would do. She said "thank god everyday that your babies are healthy". Some days I get so caught up in life and mundane tasks that I forget to look at the little things. So that is my goal, to start looking at the little things. I am going to spend more time with my kids, more time playing, more time laughing, more time loving them. Laundry will wait, dishes will wait, but them growing up isn't going to wait. They are growing so much every day and I want to savor every little moment because it happens too fast. There are so many bad things that happen to good people in this crazy world, but I have been blessed with the most beautiful little girls and the best husband that I want to not take one minute for granted. I encourage everyone to do the same. Notice the little things. Notice the new flowers blooming, notice the trees with their green leaves starting to bud, notice how lucky you are to be here and be healthy.
(I haven't had my camera out for days and a post isn't fun without a picture so here is one of my faves from Lake Powell) Aren't they sweet together?

Lake Powell slide show

Lake Powell

We had an amazing time in Lake Powell. It was the 1st time that either of the girls had been there. I was a little worried about Emerson, but she was so good. On Friday we left early in the morning and we were all excited. When we got there the wind was blowing, so we set up camp and relaxed a little. The girls loved playing in the sand. We ate dinner and the wind was just getting worse, so we put a movie on in the truck (thank heaven for DVD players made for cars) and Ryan and I got our beds made. We went to bed early and hoped that tomorrow would be wind free. My early risers woke us up just as the sun was coming up and Yeah, no wind. We loaded up in the boat and began to fish. We were out there all day and my sweet girls were perfect angels. Ryan has been teaching Aniston to cast in the garage and she grabbed her pole and fished away. We caught a few fish and Aniston netted all of them. She is so funny and her daddy loves that she is so into fishing. Emerson had some coke for breakfast and some chocolate licorice (which I believe is okay, because we were on vacation, right?) We went back to camp and ate dinner, started us a fire, and set around and talked. I swear as long as I live I will never forget that day. It was perfect! I made them pose for the picture in the banner. I'm not sure that they loved the 20 retakes, but the picture turned out just as I wanted and they will love it when I enlarge it and hang it on our wall. The next day we fished some more and again the girls were great. We then had to end our fun and get ready to go home. It isn't fun to have to pack up and head back to real life, but the memories that we made were priceless.

Technical Difficulties

I am playing with the layout and it has been disasterous. Who is it that comes up with these codes and crazy computer languages? I have been at this all day and I still don't know what the heck is going on. Sorry it looks so crazy. I wanted to put up pictures from our trip, but this silliness has consumed my day. Here is a sample of what our beautiful weekend was all about.

We are heading toward sunshine...

We are getting ready to go to Lake Powell fishing. We are all so excited. The girls can hardly wait, Ryan can hardly wait (he probably won't sleep tonight), and I am excited to sit in the warm sun and watch and (take pictures of) my family fishing!! I am hoping to come back with some beautiful pictures so check back next week!! (I am doing a photo challenge from 2 peas and so this is #17 overhead and I may through a few of these in with my posts). This is what I am hoping that we see alot of the next couple of days. Did I mention that we are so excited!!

I have the best sister

Yesterday my sister sent me a C.D. and a card and it just reminded my of what a great sister I have. We are each others best friend. There are days that I wouldn't make it through if she wasn't there for me. I love her so much and I am so proud of her. She is amazing. She went through nursing school while getting married and having two babies. I am in awe of her and her strenght. I was able to be there with her during the birth of both of her beautiful boys and she was there with me during the birth of my girls. I love her so much and I don't know if I tell her enough... So sis, I love you!! Thanks for being my best friend!
This was on her wedding day. She was beautiful that day!
(This was 4 weeks before I had Emerson, thus the fat belly)
My sis and her sweet boys. I love them all so much

Fishing

This weekend we couldn't stand setting home for one more day. We loaded up and went to Otter Creek to fish. It was a little cold and a little windy, but it was fun and the girls had a good time for no other reason than I don't insist on washing their face and hands everytime they ate something. Aniston out fished all of us and Emerson enjoyed a bag of Doritos. Then we rode over to Marysvale and went to Big Rock Candy Mountain. We ate at the cafe at the base of the mountain. It was so fun!

Emerson fishing (which almost resulted in a pole in the lake)

Aniston catching a fish. She really was the only one to catch one all day!

We miss you!!

We miss you so much. We decided that you can't leave town for work anymore. We just feel lost without you. These last few days have been a trial for me. I have decided (not that I needed any proof) that I can't live without you. I love you so much. Thanks for being you and loving us the way you do. WE LOVE YOU!!
