Home...

Home is not where you live, but where they understand you...{christian.morganstern}
I've alway, ALWAYS been a small town girl. Even when I lived in a bigger city, I was a small town girl at heart.
The drive home from college would take us to the top of Cove Fort. Just as you are about to come down there stands a Sevier County sign. I remember waiting for the signs and passing by it I would take a deep breath in and at that moment I was home.
There are so many great things about living here. I love passing a corn field and watching it grow. I love the smell of fresh cut hay. I love watching kids ride their bikes to the swimming pool. I love that in the evening you can smell Mom's Cafe cooking all across main street. I love sitting out in the evening and hearing kids laughing, dogs barking, and crickets chirping. I love being able to see every star in the night time sky!

I LOVE home for all those reasons. Someday it will be my home again.
I always say, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl..."

I love that you said that about Cove Fort, I always felt the same way! Good seeing you at the reunion....LOL

I totally agree with ya! There's nothing like living here! I've never lived anywhere else (and probably never will, THANKS BARRETT'S!! ;) but I still can't imagine myself being a city girl!

Oh, that made me homesick...I am a small town girl too. Everyone laughs when I say Roseburg is big (20,000) because they all think it is a "small town".

Amen to that! No matter where we live I still miss my home town for all those reasons. I do like the city for a lot of things, but when it comes to having kids and raising them...the small town is the way to go.
